Description
Conflicts are an inevitable part of professional life, especially in software testing. How we handle them determines whether they become roadblocks or opportunities for growth.
In modern organisations, as described in the ISTQB® Agile Test Leadership at Scale (ATLaS) Body of Knowledge, the “quality assistance approach” fosters a culture of shared responsibility for testing and quality. This approach depends on turning conflicts into opportunities for collaboration and improvement.
This interactive workshop provides participants with practical techniques to navigate workplace conflicts, shift from reactive response to proactive action, and strengthen trust-based relationships.
To prepare for the workshop, participants are invited to complete a short self-assessment. During the session, they will learn how to interpret their result and use the insight to reflect on their own conflict patterns.
Participants begin by exploring sources and reasons for conflicts and how a conflict can escalate.
The workshop also draws on the Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) model of the world and related presuppositions, as well as the conflict triangle and typical difficult behaviours associated with its three roles.
Finally, participants are introduced to the ACT model as a practical approach to responding more constructively to conflict.
Designed for professionals at all levels, this workshop provides practical thinking tools that participants can use to strengthen their conflict resolution skills and contribute to a more collaborative work environment.
You will learn
To understand typical reasons for conflicts
To assess the severity of a conflict
To understand and recognise typical conflict roles
To use presuppositions from NLP to reframe the conflict
