Lås op for inklusion - sådan kommer du i gang med A11y test (tilgængelighed)
Camilla Ellyton fra Mjølner
Abstract:

Abstract:
Learning Objectives:
Du vil lære at:

De to kommunikationsstile

Welcome to Management - Tips and Tricks for your journey into Leadership
By Andrea Jensen from Navis
Abstract:
Mini-Moments of Leadership: Lessons from My First Year as a Test Team Lead
When Andres stepped into her first test team lead role in 2023, she asked herself, “Am I ready for this?”—though honestly, it was closer to “What the heck is she doing here?”
The reality hit fast: no course could have prepared her for the untrained, everyday challenges—like juggling time zones or navigating tricky team dynamics. These “mini-moments” may seem small, but in leadership, they are the real tests.
In this talk, she will share her first-year stories from leading an international, distributed team—the wins, the missteps, and the lessons learned. You will hear leadership tips, pet peeves, and valuable insights from mentors, colleagues, and the tech community.
If you have ever wondered what leadership really feels like in the day-to-day, this session will give you honest, practical takeaways for mastering those moments that no training can teach.
Learning Objectives:
You will learn:
To understand the situations first-time managers facing in their early days
To identify the tactics and coping mechanisms for the challenges associated with the role of a team lead
To transfer the tips and tricks for junior managers to your personal management context and adapt them accordingly
Session Outline:
While this talk is not purely a testing topic Andrea will touchpoint one of many career options for testers. She will talk about taking on a leadership role while remaining a hands-on tester at the same time..
Andres will share her personal and unique experiences as a first time manager for a test team. SheI will also reflect on common situations that emerging leaders will face in their career.
The aim is that Andrea's experiences and the insights she shares will be a support to those who are starting their leadership journey.
The presentation is designed as a “typical day of a manager”, a team lead who is working hands-on as a tester and owning the leadership topics of a team lead. Throughout each encounter during the day she will reflect about the situation, share her learnings and personal strategy .
Andres is going to highlight how hard it can be to form a team, while folks are located on different continents and never met in person. She will share her challenges, frustrations, and successes in building relationships across continents.
